Edgewater Baptist Church is a Christian congregation in Portmore, St. Catherine, Jamaica, located at 23 North Edgewater Avenue. Established in 1972 under the Jamaica Baptist Union, it has become a vibrant community church emphasizing evangelism, discipleship, and education under the motto “Knowing Christ, Making Him Known.” The church is led by Rev. Dr. Dylan Toussaint.

Initially launched as a mission by the East Queen Street Baptist Church, Edgewater Baptist Church dedicated its permanent chapel in 1978. It became independent in 1988 as part of the Edgewater/Waterford Circuit. Significant expansion between 1998 and 2002 modernized the facilities, accommodating its growing membership of over 400.

The church operates numerous ministries, including Bible studies, youth and women’s fellowships, the Boys’ and Girls’ Brigades, and a Healing & Counselling Ministry. It also provides community support through outreach programs such as Dorcas and Care Ministries and maintains a scholarship fund.

The Edgewater Baptist Learning Centre, founded in 2008, serves as an educational hub for youth and adults in Portmore. In partnership with HEART/NSTA Trust, it offers training in areas such as customer service and food and beverage operations. Supported by the Flow Foundation and the Universal Service Fund, the centre provides internet access and modern computing facilities for digital literacy.

Regular activities include Sunday worship at 10:00 a.m., Family Bible Hour, midweek Bible study, and youth fellowship. The church also hosts community events such as the annual Victory Praise Concert and participates in wider denominational assemblies of the Jamaica Baptist Union.
